At the Australian Photographic Society's (APS) annual conference, APSCON 09, in Victor Harbour, South Australia, Iconic Images International launched Australia's most valuable photography competition for amateur photographers.
The competition is endorsed by APS and the major sponsors are Iconic Images International, Canon Australia and ASUKABOOK.
This new Australian competition has one open category and entry is by uploading to the Iconic Images International website. The preparation of prints is not required except for the winning images selected for display at APSCON 2010.
There are a total of ten prizes, valued in excess of $17,000.00.

COMPETITION
The Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management (thankfully they have an acronym - CIWEM) is a British institution currently inviting entries to a photographic competition you may be interested in.
CIWEM's Environmental Photographer of the Year honours amateur and professional photographers who use their ability to raise awareness of environmental and social issues. The competition encourages entries that are contemporary, creative, resonant, challenging, original and beautiful. But most of all, they want your pictures to inspire people around the world to start taking care of our environment.
The exhibition is open to all professional and amateur, national and international photographers of all ages working with digital and film photography.
