Tasmanian Photographic Federation

During our meetings you may hear the phrase TPF used. This stands for the Tasmanian Photographic Federation. It is an alliance of all the camera clubs of Tasmania, including the Launceston Photographic Society.

The TPF meets three times a year (March, June and November) and meetings rotate around the regions. Each club sends two delegates to every meeting. The TPF's function is to promote photography among its members and to provide a forum for discussion. The TPF also produces a newsletter for its members.

In conjunction with their meetings a number of photographic activities are organised for all those interested in attending. This includes an interclub competition. Every club submits an entry for this and there are individual and annual trophies awarded. This provides LPS members with an opportunity to represent our club. The TPF also operates a merit award system where members earn points for club and other entries and competition successes.

They also have a service award program that recognizes services provided to clubs by members. These can include such things as serving as an office-bearer, committee member or judge. Details of the merit award system can be supplied to those interested.
